HOW TO REGISTER MICROSOFT AUTHENTICATOR (MFA)
ON A MOBILE DEVICE
Note: You will need 2 things before you start:
- Your mobile device you are registering
- Another device such as another phone, tablet, or computer. **Computer is recommended**
STEP 1 – Install Microsoft Authenticator on your mobile device you are registering

STEP 2 – Once installed, tap to open the app. Tap Accept, then Continue

STEP 3 – Tap on Scan a QR code. If phone asks for permission to use the camera, tap Allow

STEP 4 – On your other device (computer preferred), open a web browser and navigate to https://www.office.com and click Sign In. Sign in using your company email address and provided password
STEP 5 – Once logged in, you’ll see the following message. Click Next

Then click Next

Then click Next

STEP 6 – On the next screen, a QR code will appear. Go back to your mobile device that has the camera app open, and hold up the phone to the QR code. It will scan automatically. Once you see the account appear in your Authenticator app, go back to the other device and click Next. This will send a test authentication to your mobile device. NOTE: You MUST click next in order for it to register correctly

STEP 7 – Once you click Next, a 2 digit number will appear on the screen. Input those 2 numbers on your mobile device to complete the setup



***IMPORTANT NOTE***
If you use a mobile phone or tablet starting at Step 4, it will be slightly different. After logging into https://www.office.com on a mobile phone or tablet, you will see the following screen after clicking Next. Click on “Show QR code” to display the QR code you’ll need to scan for Step 6
