How to set up FastEST on the Remote Desktop server at WRN
This process is to help an employee-owner at William R. Nash set up FastEST under their user profile on the WRN-RDS01 remote desktop server.
- Open your connection to the WRNash remote desktop server - this is usually a shortcut on your desktop like the one on the right, and is the same one you use to access Sage.
If you do not have this icon set up on your desktop, search for “Remote Desktop Connection” in the start menu. Connect to the Computer WRN-RDS01.wrnash.com with the username “WRNASH\firstname.lastname". Click "Save As" to save a shortcut to your desktop.
If the above icon (or similar) is not on your desktop:


2. Open up FastPIPE or FastDUCT. You will see the following screen pop up.
3. Click the drop-down arrow next to the “plus” icon, and select “Enter Full Path Name…”


4. Type in the following path and click OK:
F:\FastEST-Shared.site
If this path does not work, use the path \\wrndbs01.wrnash.com\FastEST\FastEST-Shared.site

5. You should now see the client load up. The process will need to be completed for both FastDUCT and FastPIPE if access is needed to both applications.

Error Launching Excel
If FastDUCT or FastPIPE is providing the error to the right when generating an Excel file, please follow these steps:
1. Within Remote Desktop, open Excel. Sign into the application using your email and password to make sure it is activated.


2. Click the File tab in the top left, then click Options. In the window that pops up, select Options, then Trust Center à Trust Center settings


3. Select Macro Settings, then select “Enable VBA Macros” and “Trust access to the VBA project object model”. Then click OK on all open settings windows.
